City of Menomonie announces "hybrid" reopening of City Council meetings!
On March 1, 2021, just over a year ago, three of us spoke during “Public Comment” and asked the Menomonie City Council not to lock community members out of the (huge 2,000+ sq ft) meeting room and limit us to ZOOM-only participation. Every council member, except Chad Schlough, nevertheless, voted otherwise.
Truth-be-told, you can see from the minutes link above that all of the council members were already participating on ZOOM at that time. Only the mayor, staff, and the three of us were actually physically present that day in the council chambers.
Mayor Knaack announced last Monday (3/21/22) that the public will be able to resume in-person attendance at council meetings effective immediately!
The ZOOM attendance option currently remains for both community and council members.
The Eau Claire City Council followed Mayor Knaack’s lead the next day.
