Welcome to my campaign “watchblog,” where I talk about local government news and my views!
My name is Joyce Uhlir and I am a conservative running for Menomonie City Council, Ward 6. My opponent is incumbent Leland Schwebs. Lee has been on the Council for a really long time. He knows a lot about zoning and road projects and such. He has been very responsive whenever I had a question or concern.
That said, he would not speak to the Council about my concerns or show the leadership I felt was necessary on a variety of issues.
There are currently NO outspoken conservatives on the City Council at all, so every woke agenda item has a clear path to approval.
I ask:
Why is the Council still locked down, with ZOOM-only meetings?
What is the Council plan for dealing with resident concerns about the new Dominion voting machines?
How can the Council better communicate with citizens about public meetings now that Dunn County News is fading away?
With other emergencies likely to come our way in the future, is there someone on the Council who will be a voice against local government overreach and stand for the freedom of Menomonites?
I would love to hear your thoughts about any of this. Please email me at UhlirForCouncil@protonmail.com and share your concerns and questions.
Donations and help in getting the word out is also appreciated at this time.
It’s time for CHANGE in Menomonie. It’s time to bring local government out of the ZOOM-closet and into the SUNSHINE.
